Il racconto di Jennifer Egan, "Safari" sul nyer. Sofisticato e intelligente, con un paio di trovate notevoli: la catalogazione delle dinamiche relazionali tra i personaggi di un piccolo gruppo (che partecipa a un safari) - structural resentment... structural affection... structural hatred... ecc. E il flash forward finale che ci proietta nel futuro - triste, ahimè - dei protagonisti.

Sempre sul nyer, Louis Menand riflette su Andy Warhol e il suo posto nel panorama dell'arte contemporanea, partendo dalla domanda, "did he paint this stuff because he thought it was great or because he thought it was junk?" O dal perché una lattina di Campbell's Soup non è arte, e una lattina di Campbell's Soup riprodotta letteralmente da Warhol lo è? E finisce: "This November, his silk screen 200 One Dollar Bills (1962) was sold for $43.7 million... proving, among other things, that something that looks like two hundred dollars is not the same thing as two hundred dollars."
